Access Intelligence Acquires AdMonsters, Expanding Its Conference Portfolio with Leading Ad Ops & Digital Technology Brand
ROCKVILLE, MD, March 9, 2015 — Access Intelligence announced today the acquisition of AdMonsters, the fast-growing and preeminent conference and trade show company serving the online advertising operations, advertising technology and digital media markets. This acquisition strengthens Access Intelligence’s leadership position in the media, marketing and communications markets with a brand that is deeply entrenched in the community of ad operations and technology professionals. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1999 by Bowen Dwelle, AdMonsters (www.admonsters.com) produces the Publisher Forums, held three times a year, and the annual OPS conference, to be held June 9, 2015 in New York. These events, serving thousands of media professionals annually, are defining the future of digital media operations and advertising technology. AdMonsters also hosts workshops and networking events nationwide and serves a vibrant online community of leaders in ad operations and technology platforms at media companies worldwide, in addition to ad agencies, technology providers and others at the intersection of advertising, branding, technology and engagement.
“AdMonsters has been on the leading edge of the technological and strategic evolution of online media operations, technology, and monetization for many years,” said Don Pazour, CEO of Access Intelligence. “We are delighted to add the AdMonsters brand to our Media & Broadcasting Group portfolio, to bring a highly talented team into our family, and to fast-track our leadership position in the areas of advanced marketing, technology and media.”
AdMonsters will become part of Access Intelligence’s Media & Broadcasting Group, run by Diane Schwartz, senior vice president and group publisher, whose other brands include Cynopsis, PR News, Folio, min, Cablefax and Studio Daily.
“We are very proud to have built AdMonsters as a real community of professionals in online ad operations and technology, and we are very happy to work with Access Intelligence to expand our offerings and serve that community in even greater ways over the coming years,” said Bowen Dwelle, who will serve as AdMonsters Founder & Consultant with Access Intelligence, while remaining CEO of 8 Meter Media.
The AdMonsters Publisher Forum in Sonoma, CA, held March 1-4, was sold out, as have been nearly all the Publisher Forums. Upcoming AdMonsters events include the OPS conference on June 9 in New York and Publisher Forums to be held August 23-26 in Charleston, SC, and November 8-11 in San Diego.
The acquisition marks Access Intelligence’s continued investment in high-performing properties with engaged audiences and best-in-class products and services. Over the past several years, Access Intelligence completed acquisitions in the media/marketing and healthcare sectors, including that of LeadsCon, Red7 Media (which includes Event Marketer and Folio/The Folio Show); OR Manager, which produces one of the largest trade shows serving operating room executives; and Cynopsis Media, with advertising-driven e-letters serving the TV and digital communities.
